Job Description - Senior Compliance Specialist

We are now transforming our business and taking our expertise into new territories including obesity and rare blood and endocrine diseases. Our story is one of incredible growth and success, which has culminated in receiving many prestigious awards, such as Best Places to Work and Vitality – Britain’s Healthiest Workplace 2nd year running!The positionIn this role, you will assist the company in operating in a compliant and ethical manner with regards to the ABPI Code of Practice, Business Ethics and other relevant legislation and guidelines, while meeting its business goals. You will report directly to the Head of Compliance, working with a team of Compliance Specialist.The nature and scope of main accountabilities will include:Implementing and managing an effective compliance programme to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and guidelines including EU directives, UK Medicine Law, the ABPI Code of Practice, MHRA guidelines, for the advertising and promotion of medicines in the UK and other agencies, such as the Advertising Standards Authority.You will proactively ensure all employees maintain awareness of the ABPI and Business Ethics Compliance Framework dependent on their role, advising leadership team on relevant requirements and standards impacting the business. You will also:-Provide high level strategic guidance to the Business Area on Compliance with the code and the Business Ethics Compliance Framework, including direct interaction with Directors and senior managers both in the UK and at a Regional and Headquarter level
-Lead on preparing for internal and external audits in relation to compliance and Business Ethics, creating and managing effective action plans in response to audit findings and compliance deviations
-Conduct training programmes on compliance matters (ABPI, Business Ethics or any other relevant regulations and guidelines) across departments

 QualificationsYour education background will be at degree level or equivalent, preferably within Compliance, Law, Business, or the Sciences.On top of that we would expect:-Expertise knowledge of, and experience of working with, the ABPI Code of Practice within the pharmaceutical industry regulations
-Solid experience in the said domain in healthcare / pharma industry / audit firms, e. g., knowledge of analysing compliance issues, sales, marketing, medical information, research, or training
-Experience of reviewing promotional and non-promotional material
-Detailed knowledge of leading on high level Compliance matters within a pharmaceutical industry setting
-Proven ability to present confidently and succinctly to very large group of employees, including on occasions to all Business Area employees at Plan of Action meetings
