As a Barclays Java Developer, you will be joining Middle Office Technology – Prime Finance team within Chief Operating Office and Functions area. You will be instrumental in implementing the end-to-end delivery of MyPrime API and Prime Service Mesh under the Electronification of Prime program. The role is expected to work with the Prime and CTO architects to design and implement the 3-year architecture plan. Being the API specialist, this role is expected to bring solutions and strategies.

What will you be doing?
• Coding to build application and components as part of functional and non-functional 
• Applying object-oriented concepts, designing patterns and framework constructs
• Driving architectural strategy and designing manifesting through visual representation like UML 
• Translating business requirements into software leveraging open-source frameworks, applications or libraries
• Supporting, monitoring and troubleshooting of both production and non-production environments
• Addressing any client/ trader/ user queries promptly, minimising impact to business in case of production issues, and conducting application profiling to detect code smells
• Handling production issues in matured way, providing/ implementing tactical solutions to minimize impact to business followed by strategic solutions
• Working through the top-to-bottom technologies of the stack or equivalent development area

What we’re looking for:
• Expert on object oriented analysis and design
• Expert on Java 8 or higher with focus on lambda, concurrency, and collections
• Exposure with Spring Boot and Spring Cloud
• Solid experience with micro services architecture

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Experience with streaming design and its technologies
• Experience with No SQL
• Experience with containerized deployment (AWS, Open Shift or similar)
• Solid exposure with domain driven design
