Senior Software Developer

The Zonal group are one of the UK’s largest technology providers to the hospitality industry.

Our products are used by over 16,000 pubs, restaurants, and hotels. Customers include national brands like Pizza Express, JD Wetherspoons and All Bar One.

What you will do

You will be involved in the full product development life cycle playing a significant role in delivering innovative solutions that are changing the way we all interact with pubs, restaurants, and hotels.

Main Duties:

• You will collaborate closely with the Product Owner and Delivery manager to ensure the road map is defined.
• You will help lead the design and architecture of the products in collaboration with technical architects.
• Assist in the maintenance of the technical back log in collaboration with stakeholders
• You will collaborate closely with other engineers and become a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional team
• You will collaborate closely with the Delivery team to help ensure the delivery is in scope and on time
• You will help the team and contribute to the plan, design, and shape responsive solutions
• With your help, the team will ensure that our customer’s experience is the absolute best it can be.
• You will be responsible for owning and managing your own personal learning and objectives.
• Bind our front and back-end services together and monitor, test and continuously optimize your designs.

 

People Responsibilities :

• Mentor and coach team members in good practice and design
• Promote teamwork and engagement
• Help run technical guilds in collaboration with senior developers
• Assist the Delivery Managers with recruitment.

Skills Required:

• Experience of taking ownership and driving forward technical roadmaps.
• You have worked with various database technologies
• You have experience of working with high throughput, highly concurrent systems
• You have an understanding of current and emerging trends in the tech industry
• You are experienced with modern coding, unit testing, debugging, and code review techniques.
• You have an excellent understanding and industry experience of object-oriented programming
• You have experience of using design patterns and implementing S.O.L.I.D principles
• You will have an understanding and experience of AGILE principles.
• You have experience of working with high throughput, highly concurrent systems
• Extensive C# knowledge
• Good knowledge of front-end technologies such as knockout and React
• Good db skills – SQL and MongoDB
• Worked in scrum teams supporting various developers at different skill levels
• Extensive knowledge of web development
• Good understanding of supporting and maintaining ADO build and deployment pipelines
