Pay Scale - Band 6 £154.41 - £191.97 per day

Duration: Initially to 31 March 2025

Location: Leeds 20% Home 80%

IR35: In scope

The purpose of the Business Intelligence Analyst post is to:

• Create and support ETL processes that provide a stable, trusted source of data for all reporting and data requirements
• Create and maintain business intelligence (BI) reports and dashboards using available tools, in accordance with requirements gathered from both technical and non-technical end users
• Provide technical support and assist in the development and maintenance of BI solutions and processes
• Analyse and continually evaluate data quality and integrity to produce reports and implement action plans to ensure on-going process improvements.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Experience of complex data analysis using advanced knowledge of statistics, database design and BI systems tools
• Understand basic concepts of BI Architecture such as ETL, Data Warehousing and Data Modelling
• Ability to manipulate, model and analyse data using Excel, SQL, QlikView, Qlik Sense
• Experience developing reports using data visualisation tools such as QlikView, Qlik Sense, Tableau or Power BI
• Experience in processes related to data collection, modelling and experience creating ad hoc SQL queries of T-SQL
• An understanding of data protection and information governance, including GDPR
• Understanding of Business Intelligence terminology and processes
• Understanding of Relational Databases
• Knowledge of grant/award management and its metrics
• An understanding of terminology applicable to medical research
• An understanding of public sector health research and its management
• Experience developing SSIS routines
• Ability to identify data errors, inconsistencies, or gaps to achieve standardised, consistent, and reliable outputs
