Job Description - Data Quality & Management Lead

Data & Analytics Lead , UK Location: GSK House (Brentford / New location - Tottenham Court) Data & Analytics Lead plays a pivotal role in harnessing data for informed decision making and driving innovation across the organization by putting in data strategy and execution of this strategy. Strategic Planning and Leadership: Define and execute a data analytics strategy that supports corporate objectives and innovation. Understand in detail GSK Global Data Framework, including various semantic layers and all relevant data/analytics definitions in the commercial and medical space and share global and regional KPIs definitions with local business teams as needed. Data Governance and Management: Develop and enforce data governance policies to ensure data integrity, quality, legal and compliance. Oversee the management of data assets, including data warehousing, data lakes, and databases. Ensure to have monitoring and alerts in place to proactively identify and address data pipeline issues that could impact business operations. Maintain comprehensive documentation of data solutions, configurations and changes that can be understood by both technical and business stakeholders. Collaborate with the BI team to integrate advanced analytics into their reporting and visualization work. Data Infrastructure and Architecture: Evaluate and recommend data technologies that enhance the existing data infrastructure. Ensure that the data architecture supports current and future business needs, with scalability and flexibility. Implement data security and compliance measures to protect sensitive information and ensure regulatory requirements are met. Work closely with business leaders to understand their data needs and ensure that the data analytics initiatives align with business priorities. Translate complex data-related findings into actionable business insights. Encourage innovation within the team to explore new data sources, tools, and analytical techniques. Continuously optimize data solutions for performance, cost-effectiveness, and scalability while considering the impact on business operations. Project Management: Prioritize and manage analytics project portfolio, ensuring timely completion and measurable business impact Allocate resources and provide technical guidance on analytics projects. Act as a liaison between the Local/ Regional/ Global Tech, Local BI team and other business units to ensure cohesive and integrated efforts for data and analytics initiatives. Manage vendor partners/teams to drive new projects /programmes. A strong background in data engineering, data science, statistics, or applied mathematics. Experience in data management, including knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, data governance, data security and cloud-based storage solutions. Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and experience with big data technologies (e.g., Familiarity of visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire will be a plus. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Familiarity with the pharmaceutical industry and the specific data challenges and regulatory requirements it faces. By fulfilling these responsibilities, the Data & Analytics Lead ensures that the organization not only capitalizes on its current data assets but also continuously evolves its data capabilities to meet future challenges and opportunities. We focus on the science of the immune system and the use of new platform and data technologies, investing in four core therapeutic areas (infectious diseases, HIV, respiratory/ immunology and oncology).
