Job Description

Feed your ambition by joining the UKs largest foodservice provider and take the next step in your management career by leading our Portbury Regional Distribution Centre. This is an exceptional and exciting opportunity for an experienced General Manager looking to make a difference at one of our flagship sites.

In this role you’ll be responsible for all aspects of this large operation in the South West - with responsibility for Portbury, as well as 2 satellite sites at Bodmin and Bridgend. The three sites employ around 550 colleagues in total. You will provide strong and effective leadership to ensure all operations deliver the required service levels to delight our customers. You’ll manage resources and budgets to enable growth, whilst optimising efficiencies and driving improvements to key metrics and KPIs by embedding a continuous improvement culture. Naturally collaborative, you will work closely with Commercial colleagues to drive regional profitable growth and with other operational leaders to share and learn from best practice and implement new technologies and ways of working.

An inspirational senior manager, you will cultivate an environment where a balance is struck between prioritising health and safety, customer service, and colleague experience. You will be passionate about enabling all team members to reach their full potential, and will work closely with your direct reports to build high performing and engaged teams - developing a pipeline of great future leaders.

To join us as the General Manager, you will have previous leadership experience in a fast-paced operation and have strong operational knowledge of warehousing and/or distribution – ideally within the FMCG sector. 

You’ll be a forward-thinking individual and an effective change leader who demonstrates resilience, credibility, and composure under pressure. You’ll be commercially astute; results driven, and detail orientated - using data to support your decision making.
