Job Description - Planning Manager (Construction)

Planning Manager * Job Profile - Supply & Demand Planning Manager Our client is seeking an experienced Planning Manager to lead their Ireland planning & logistics function in Belfast, a key part of the regional UK operation along with the GB site based in Ashbourne. As Planning Manager, you will oversee short-term planning activities, ensuring timely production, distribution, and inventory management. Your responsibilities will include leading the local Planning and Logistics teams, setting clear expectations and priorities, managing day-to-day operations and performance, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to implement best practices. We are looking for someone with extensive planning and logistics experience, strong leadership and communication skills, with an analytical mindset focused on continuous improvement. Responsible for all planning activities within the local OpCo covering the short term / operational horizon (0-13 weeks) which includes material planning, production planning, scheduling, warehousing and logistics, and distribution planning.

  • Provide procurement, supply points and logistics departments with production plans in line with service levels, inventory, production parameters, targets and guidelines.
  • Responsible for ensuring the inventory levels.
  • Responsible for making day-to-day decisions, where planning conflicts occur (e.g. insufficient capacity for multiple orders) and where relevant, escalating for resolution to the Regional Supply Chain Manager.
  • Provide KPI dashboards, insights and decision documents at request or at own initiative regarding quantitative and ad hoc reports and/or analyses, based on reporting guidelines.
Lead and develop a team of (senior) planners and schedulers through coaching and feedback to maximize performance of themselves and the Planning team.
  • Manages the Planning staff on a daily basis, organizes and supervises the activities and work of the team to ensure that all work within Planning is carried out efficiently and in accordance with operating procedures and policies.
  • Controlling and looking after key performance indicators
  • who acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
