Job Description - Intern - Manufacturing Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Monitoring and Diagnostics team, based in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. Our mission is to develop state of the art monitoring technologies, generally deployed in an Electrical Substation, allowing a customer to understand and optimize the operating condition of their Electrical Power Transformers, circuit breakers, and other substation assets. You will be responsible for delivering a wide range of projects to support the growth of our business, improve and/or develop global supply chain processes, and to improve product quality by using lean and 6 sigma approach and effectively working in a cross-functional environment. Analysis of existing processes and execution of improvements

  • Carry out root cause analysis of reported production issues
  • Experimental testing of dissolved gas analytics / sensor technology
  • Review Production line layout and re-structure as required
  • Project planning and execution of tasks to set timeline
  • Support of daily production activities
  • Improve H&S and Ergonomics in production cells
  • Has or currently pursuing a degree in Engineering/Science (preferably Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical and Mechanical, but all considered), or equivalent knowledge or experience. Competency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment or independently on multiple projects with strict completion deadlines. Good writing skills, accuracy, and an eye for detail. Fluency in spoken and written English is essential.
Confident at programming in Excel and managing or developing databases/macros. Familiar with programming languages like Labview or Matlab. Previous industrial work experience.
