About The Team & Role 

 

 



Join Gloucestershire Archives, based at the Gloucestershire Heritage Hub, and help care for over 10 million manuscripts, maps, photographs, books, plans, audio-visual materials and digital records documenting the county’s rich history and culture.

This exciting opportunity offers the chance to work as part of a small, supportive team dedicated to preserving Gloucestershire’s heritage and making collections and services accessible to everyone. Alongside gaining valuable hands-on experience, you will study towards a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Libraries, Information and Archive Studies, developing the skills and knowledge needed for a career in the heritage, archives and information sectors.

The apprenticeship is a fixed-term, two-year position funded through Sounds of the South West, a National Lottery Heritage Fund project. Training will be provided by LMP, and you will join a cohort of three apprentices across the South West, benefiting from shared learning, networking opportunities and professional development.

 




 


About You 

 

 

To be successful, you will have experience of delivering excellent customer service, carrying out administrative tasks accurately and efficiently. You will have strong communication skills; be able to listen carefully and share information clearly; be well organised, capable of multi-tasking and working to deadlines. You will be a quick learner who can absorb, retain and apply new information and work effectively as part of a team.

A genuine interest in archives and the wider heritage sector is essential.
