Band 2: £24,465 per annum

Contract Type: Permanent

Full time hours: 37.5 per week

Work Base: Queen Alexandra Hospital, Southwick Hill Road, Cosham, Portsmouth, PO6 3LY

Are you tech-savvy, organised, and eager to help others learn? We are looking for an enthusiastic E-Learning Clerical Support Apprentice to join our dynamic team. This isn’t just a job, it’s a launchpad for your career in eLearning and library science.

The Opportunity

We sit at the heart of the Trust’s knowledge sharing. As an apprentice, you will be the "face" of our eLearning services, acting as the bridge between healthcare professionals and the digital tools they need to save lives.

You’ll gain hands-on experience in a professional, supportive environment, helping staff across the Trust (including MOD and Equans partners) access vital training. Under the guidance of the eLearning Technologist, you will develop specialised skills in both eLearning technology and library science.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Be the Digital Guide: Act as the first point of contact for staff, helping them navigate platforms like ESR and Clinical Skills.net with a friendly, professional touch.
  • Master New Systems: Learn the ins and outs of online learning databases and provide basic training and troubleshooting for Trust staff.
  • Support Trust Induction: Play a key role in welcoming new starters by helping with the setup, execution, and troubleshooting of induction sessions.
  • Level Up Your IT Skills: Become an expert in Microsoft Office and gain a foundational understanding of course design and platform  maintenance.
  • Collaborate & Create: Work alongside the eLearning Technologist to design training guides, update webpages, and suggest fresh ideas to improve our working procedures.
  • Library Support: Gain experience in a library setting by assisting customers at the front desk (issue desk) with a wide variety of enquiries.

Qualifications

  • Education: A good general education, including 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 4/C or above, specifically including English Language.
  • Customer Service: Proven experience working in a customer-facing environment.
  • Technical Familiarity: Previous experience in a role that involves regular use of computers.
