Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship at Halley Primary School

Halley Primary School is looking for a hard-working, enthusiastic team player to join us as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprentice. You will support the daily running of primary classrooms, work alongside teachers to help deliver learning, and provide care and encouragement to pupils throughout the school day. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working towards a recognised qualification.

Apprenticeship Overview:

• Salary: £7.55 an hour, Automatic pay increase after one year on programme for 19+ year olds


• Working Week: Monday and Tuesday - 8.30am - 3.30pm, Wednesday - 8.30am - 4.30pm, Thursday 8.30am - 4pm, Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm (30 minutes lunch break)


• Hours: 34 hours per week


• Duration: 18 months


• Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship standard qualification


• Online training supported by our dedicated tutor


• Location: Halley Street, London, E14 7SS

What you’ll do at work

Throughout the program, you will develop a diverse skill set that will empower you to make a meaningful difference in students' lives.

• Support children with their daily learning and classroom activities


• Assist the teacher with lessons, resources, and classroom routines


• Respond to first aid needs and ensure children’s wellbeing


• Supervise pupils during playtimes and lunchtimes to promote safety and positive behaviour


• Support children to move safely and confidently around the school site
  

Desired qualifications

• GCSE English (Grade A*-C/9-4 or Level 2 equivalent) desirable


• GCSE Maths (Grade A*-C/9-4 or Level 2 equivalent) desirable
