Peer Support Student Coordinator

UE05:  £29,588 to £33,951 per annum, pro rata

CSE / School of Chemistry

Part Time: 9 hours per week

Fixed term: 12 months from start date: Summer 2026

We are looking for a student to help us develop our Peer Support offering in the School of Chemistry.

The Opportunity:

The School of Chemistry has several peer support communities in place for 26/27 – CacFams, ChemPALS and Chemistry Buddies. We are looking for a Peer Support Student Coordinator (PSSC) to support these groups to provide Peer Support to our Chemistry students in 26/27 as well as maintaining a good connection and collaboration with our other key student group – such as the ChemSoc committee.

The Opportunity here is for us to capitalise on the learning, relationship building and resources created to further develop Peer Support in Chemistry. The PSSC will have the opportunity to work with their peers and the academic and student support staff to drive this project.

Your skills and attributes for success: 

• In-depth knowledge of the School of Chemistry student experience e.g. by being a current (26/27) undergraduate student, or a postgraduate student who completed their undergraduate degree in the School of Chemistry.
• A pro-active and collaborative approach to projects and leadership.
• A good communicator both verbally and in writing.
• A good autonomous worker with the ability to prioritise and manage own workload.
• Experience in conducting surveys, focus groups or other methods of qualitative data gathering would be an advantage.
• Knowledge and/or sensitivity to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) issues with regard to accessibility.
