Description of the department
The private equity team source investment deals, conduct due diligence and implement investments across the private equity asset class including fund investments and co-investments. The Placement Year Intern will support in the due diligence and execution of primary, secondary & co-investment transactions.

Your role and responsibilities will include:

• Monitor and report on the portfolio (compliance with covenants, portfolio reviews)
• Prepare and analyse financial models
• Undertake due diligence on potential investments
• Supporting in the quarterly monitoring / reporting of the PE portfolio, in coordination with team members within the PE and dedicated reporting team
• Contributing to the monitoring of investments made, including investment performance
• Contributing to refining and maintaining quarterly reporting tools that fit with AXA and third-party clients' requirements

Qualifications
Education Skills & Experience

Education

Studying for a degree in Finance, Accountancy, Economics, Investment Management, or related subject on a 4-year University degree course with 3rd year work placement included

Skills

• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a team within an international and fast-moving environment
• Microsoft Excel (modelling and analysis), Word, PowerPoint, etc
• Analytical thinking/ financial analysis
• Effective communication including verbal, written & presentational
• Creative thinking, capability to develop innovative solutions and challenge consensus
• Flexible and open-minded
• Fluency in English. Second European language is an advantage

Experience

• Proven interest in finance/ private equity/ investment
• First experience in finance, acquired from prior internships / jobs (investment banking, consulting, asset management or private market investments related firms) would be a plus
• Understanding of asset management industry / environment desirable
• Interest in ESG themes and impact on Private Equity as an asset class
