Job Description - Production Placement

Role Title: Production Placement 



Contract type: Fixed Term for 3 months 



Reporting Line: The Production Placement will report directly to the Director of eFoiler Production.



LOCATION/BASE: 


You will be working at our location in the Titanic Quarter: Unit 1 Oakbank, Channel Park, Queens Road, Belfast BT3 9DT. 



Role Overview: The purpose of this placement is to provide practical exposure to the production environment at Artemis Technologies, supporting the manufacturing and assembly of innovative maritime technology while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced 
engineering setting. 



Key Responsibilities 


Production Support:


o Assist production teams with day-to-day assembly and manufacturing 
tasks under supervision 
o Support preparation of materials, tools, and equipment for production 
activities 
o Observe and contribute to build processes, including sub-assembly and 
component fitting.



Quality and Safety 
o Follow all company health & safety procedures and guidelines at all times 
o Support basic quality checks and inspections as directed 
o Report any safety concerns or defects to supervisors 
o Logistics and Organisation 
o Assist with stock management, including organising parts and materials 
o Support inventory checks and movement of components within the 
production area 
o Maintain a clean and organised workspace in line with 5S or similar 
standards 



Learning and Development 
o Gain an understanding of production workflows, engineering processes, 
and manufacturing standards 
o Shadow experienced team members across different production stages 
o Participate in any briefings, toolbox talks, or learning sessions provided 


Continuous Improvement 
o Provide feedback on processes from a fresh perspective 
o Support simple process improvement tasks or documentation updates 
where appropriate 



Expected Outcomes 
o Develop a basic understanding of advanced marine production processes 
o Build awareness of workplace safety, quality standards, and teamwork 
o Gain hands-on experience in a professional engineering and manufacturing 
environment 
o Enhance communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills 
Supervision and Support 



The individual will work under the guidance of designated production team members 
and supervisors, receiving ongoing support, direction, and feedback throughout the 
placement.

  • Willingness to support colleagues and follow supervision in a hands-on environment

Practical / Hands-On Skills



  • Keen interest in manufacturing, assembly, or engineering processes

  • Ability to carry out basic tasks using tools, materials, and equipment (under supervision)

  • Confidence working in a physical production environment



Organisation & Attention to Detail



  • Ability to maintain accuracy when handling components, materials, and documentation

  • Strong organisational skills for:

    • Stock management

    • Workspace maintenance 



  • Ensures work areas remain clean, safe, and efficient


 


Health & Safety Awareness



  • Understanding of the importance of:

    • Following strict H&S procedures

    • Identifying and reporting risks or hazards



  • Ability to work responsibly in a safety-critical environment



Quality Awareness



  • Attention to quality standards when supporting checks and inspections

  • Ability to follow instructions and recognise defects or inconsistencies

  • Commitment to maintaining high production standards

    • Engineering processes

    • Production workflows

Remuneration: 


Artemis Technologies Ltd offers a competitive salary commensurate to the successful candidate’s experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package which includes:
