What will I be doing?
You’ll be out on the road, visiting a variety of client sites — from hospitals and schools to commercial and industrial settings — making sure their water systems are compliant, clean, and safe.
Your day-to-day will include:
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), sampling, flushing, disinfecting, and chemical treatment of water systems
Performing remedial works, tank cleans, and chlorination
Ensuring compliance with ACOP L8, HSG274, and other water hygiene regulations
Recording and reporting site activities accurately using company systems
Spotting and reporting system issues before they become bigger problems
Representing SMS Environmental professionally with clients on-site
What do I need to be successful?
We’re looking for someone who:
Communicates clearly and professionally with clients and colleagues
Is willing to learn, take guidance, and build confidence working both independently and as part of a team
Can manage their time well and follow instructions
Holds a full UK driving licence (or is working towards one, if applicable)
Is able to pass Disclosure and Barring Service clearance (Enhanced DBS check)
Bonus points if you’ve got a knack for problem-solving and love a job that keeps you moving and learning.
