Job Description - Supported Internship Instructor

  • Annual Salary: £39,805 to £41,892
  • Location: Northwest London
  • Job Type: Full-time, permanent

We are seeking a Supported Internship Instructor to lead and manage our client's programme. This role is pivotal in providing practical work training for young adults with special educational needs (SEN), helping them to transition into paid employment by developing their skills, knowledge, and attitudes.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead and manage students with a variety of SEN needs within the Project SEARCH programme.
  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and deliver a holistic curriculum programme tailored to the needs of SEN students.
  • Work closely with job coaches to ensure trainees can develop and progress their skills across all aspects of the programme.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with students, staff, and external partners to enhance the learning experience and outcomes for students.
  • Deliver dynamic, student-centred sessions that engage and inspire learners.
  • Manage administrative tasks efficiently, using IT systems to keep records and track student progress.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree or relevant professional qualification in a related field.
  • Proven experience working with SEN students in an educational setting.
  • Strong ability to plan and develop engaging curricula for learners with a broad range of complex needs.
  • Excellent understanding of employability skills and how to impart these to SEN students.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build good working relationships.
  • Well-organised with proficient administrative and IT skills.
