Talent Acquisition Intern

Are you looking to get more exposure to the business during your off season? Would you like to learn how we attract and recruit the best people into Mr Apple? We are looking for 2 interns to join the talent team to support seasonal hiring.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Talent Acquisition Intern, you will be responsible for all candidate interactions, from the moment they apply online or visit our office until they are ready to start. Based in our Whakatu Recruitment office, you’ll be part of a busy team that sources, screens, and selects the best candidates for seasonal roles, including thinning, truck and forklift driving, and packhouse staff. Your work will involve handling sensitive information with confidentiality. 

Your daily tasks will include: 

• Managing reception, greeting candidates, assisting them with online applications, and copying documentation. 

• Using our recruitment system, Greenhouse, to screen CVs, maintain accurate records, and manage offers. 

• Conducting both phone and face-to-face interviews to assess candidates’ suitability for various roles. 

• Collaborating closely with stakeholders to understand hiring requirements and share updates. 

• Preparing offers and completing pre-employment checks with a strong focus on accuracy. 

You will bring: 

• Previous recruitment or hiring experience will be an advantage 

• You are a quick learner and have a high attention to detail  

• You are comfortable with new technology  

• Ability to develop and manage effective relationships with different stakeholders 

• Strong communication and customer service skills both on the phone and in person
