Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant Apprentice to become part of the Wimborne team and work in a friendly and successful school; whilst working towards relevant industry standard qualifications. We need someone who has a desire to be successful in education and passion for being a positive role-model to young people.



Wage


£12,825.28 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age


National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices

Wage increases to National Minimum Wage after 12 months if over 19 years old.

Monday - Friday - Term time only 8.45am - 3.25pm.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Working with young people aged between 4 and 11 years

  • Supporting a teacher in various roles within the classroom

  • Supporting young people with their learning

  • Supporting young people with specific education needs (SEND), including running intervention groups

  • Be involved in creating displays and preparing resources

  • Understand the safeguarding and behaviour policy and their role within these policies

  • Ability to always conduct yourself in a professional manner whilst working in schools

  • An eagerness to learn more about becoming a Teaching Assistant

  • A passion for working with children

  • Relevant personal qualities including patience and communication

  • Ability to always show professionalism

  • Ability to listen and learn from more experienced staff

  • Build relationships with learners, teachers, other professionals and stakeholders.

  • Comply with legislation, guidance, and procedures for Prevent, safeguarding and health & safety.

  • Support the well-being and mental health of learners.

  • Observe, record, and report on learners in line with organisational procedures.

  • Apply methods of formative assessment.

  • Use up to date technology safely, to support learning.

  • Encourage safe use of technology by learners.

  • Adapt teaching strategies to support all learners (for example, scaffolding, open questioning).

  • Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners.

  • Provide feedback to learners.

  • Teaching Assistant level 3 Apprenticeship Standard

  • 20% off the job training 

  • Tutor support via online platform

Requirements Essential qualifications

GCSE in:



Maths and English (grade A*-C (4-9))

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
