Salary: £21,157.50 - £24,784.50 Per annum.

Got a passion for technology and enjoy repairing laptops and phones? Start your career in IT hardware repair with GreensafeIT. Our structured training programme is designed for hands-on technology enthusiasts with little or no formal IT experience. Over 6-9 months you’ll gain practical experience repairing IT devices, while developing skills across our Repair, Refurbishment, and Ecommerce Operations.

With full on-the-job training, you’ll work towards becoming a fully competent, IT Hardware Repair Engineer.

At GreensafeIT, we provide a comprehensive range of IT lifecycle services including data erasure, refurbishment and configuration.  Further services include bonded storage solutions, nationwide logistics, datacentre and office relocations, on-site engineering support and, project management services, whilst ensuring sustainability remains at the heart of everything we do.

Key Responsibilities:

Learn and develop practical laptop repair skills, including screen, palm rest and keyboard replacement, progressing from supervised to independent work as competencies are signed off.
Carry out cosmetic restoration using vinyl wrapping, working towards GreensafeIT’s required quality standards.
Repair and upgrade eligible Grade C devices to Grade B standard, maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Gain hands-on exposure to device intake, grading, parts control, refurbishment and ecommerce preparation.
Develop an understanding of how refurbished devices are photographed, listed and prepared for sale.
Once core competencies are achieved, provide support to the Breakfix team during busy periods and colleague absence.
Follow all health, safety and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) procedures, including the safe handling of batteries and other components.
Complete required training, competency signoffs and any relevant courses or certifications throughout the programme.
Competencies & Behaviours:

Essential

Genuine practical interest in computer hardware, such as building, upgrading or repairing laptops & phones.
Reliable, punctual and able to commit to a structured 6–9-month training programme.
Willing to follow instructions and safety procedures carefully.
Comfortable working hands-on with small, detailed components.
Basic literacy and numeracy skills to follow instructions and maintain accurate records.
Right to work in the UK.
Able to travel to our Droitwich site for every shift.
Desirable

GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
Any self-taught or informal experience of device repair, upgrades or troubleshooting.
Interest in sustainability, the circular economy or reducing electronic waste.
Interest in gaining industry-recognised IT certifications, such as CompTIA A+.
