We are looking for a Trainee Laboratory Scientist to join our friendly and supportive team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to gain real-world experience within the medical device sector, working alongside experienced scientists and learning a wide range of laboratory techniques.
No previous industry experience is required. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with a genuine interest in science, a strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
What You'll Be Doing
As part of our laboratory team, you will:
* Assist with testing a variety of medical devices in a laboratory environment.
* Learn how to follow scientific procedures and testing methods accurately.
* Record results and maintain clear, organised documentation.
* Help prepare laboratory equipment and materials for testing.
* Work closely with experienced scientists who will support your training and development.
* Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
* Contribute to projects that help ensure medical products are safe and effective for patients.
What We're Looking For
This role would suit someone who:
* Has recently completed A-Levels (particularly in Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
* Is interested in building a career within science, laboratory testing, healthcare, or research.
* Has excellent attention to detail.
* Enjoys practical, hands-on work.
* Is organised and able to manage their time effectively.
* Can follow instructions and procedures carefully.
* Has good written and verbal communication skills.
* Works well both independently and as part of a team.
* Has a positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills.
