Trainee Maintenance Engineer - Days 📍 Carmarthen 💰 £27,000 - £30,000 + Training & Development
What You'll Do:
Join a growing materials processing business and begin your engineering career within a busy, hands-on environment. Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll receive full training while developing the skills needed to become a fully qualified Maintenance Engineer.
Assist with routine inspections across plant and workshop areas Support planned preventative maintenance activities on a range of processing equipment Learn how to diagnose faults and assist with breakdown repairs Gain hands-on experience working on conveyors, screening equipment, and other plant machinery Help maintain excellent housekeeping and safety standards across site Work from maintenance schedules and engineering job sheets Learn and follow permit systems, risk assessments, and safe systems of work Develop your understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems Work closely with experienced engineers who will mentor and support your development
What You'll Bring:
A genuine interest in engineering and maintenance A relevant engineering qualification, apprenticeship, or college-based engineering studies A practical mindset and willingness to learn Good problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to work Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team A positive attitude and commitment to working safely Previous experience in manufacturing, automotive, construction, agriculture, plant maintenance, or engineering environments would be advantageous but is not essential A desire to build a long-term career within engineering
