We’re currently recruiting for Transport Administrator Apprentice based at our customer site in Ilkeston, Derbyshire for our transport operations .

Job Description

* Accurate data entry and maintenance of transport management systems.

* Liaising with customers regarding delivery schedules, delivery updates and service enquiries.

* Communicating with hauliers, drivers and third-party delivery networks to coordinate collections and deliveries.

* Monitoring daily transport operations and tracking shipments through to completion.

* Proactively notifying customers of delivery dates, times and any delays.

* Investigating delivery failures, service issues and customer complaints, ensuring corrective actions are taken where required.

* Uploading, retrieving and tracing Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation.

* Preparing and issuing loader packs, manifests and delivery paperwork.

* Creating and issuing delivery labels and shipping documentation.

* Booking deliveries across multiple carrier and pallet network systems.

* Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, collections and transport activity.

* Escalating operational issues and delays to the relevant stakeholders.

Other requirements

Essential skills required: Good knowledge of UK Geography. Experience in using computer software systems. Successful tracking record in communication and building relationships with customers. Experience in a challenging Customer Service environment.

What you need to succeed at XPO

* An interest in office-based work and the transport industry

* Good attention to detail and organisational skills

* Confidence using basic IT systems

* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

* A willingness to learn and develop within the role

Location, public transport may be limited. Own car / transport would be beneficial
