1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (Diabetes Trained) - Primary School - Brixton

Location: Brixton, South London

Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term
Daily Rate: £95 - £115 (dependent on experience)

Remedy Recruitment is seeking a skilled and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a primary-aged pupil with additional needs and Type 1 Diabetes at a welcoming school in Brixton.

The ideal candidate will have experience in SEN support and be confident in monitoring blood glucose levels, administering insulin (if required), and managing hypo/hyperglycaemic episodes safely and calmly.

• Provide 1:1 classroom and emotional support

• Monitor and manage the pupil's diabetes throughout the school day

• Support learning, engagement, and behaviour

• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and medical team

• Experience working with children with SEN (preferably primary)

• Diabetes care training/experience essential

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)

• Calm, reliable, and confident under pressure
