Accounts Payable Assistant - Mandarin speaking 6 month FTC

This role is an initial 6 month fixed term contract on a part time basis (16-20 hours per week). The successful candidate must be proficient in mandarin.

Key Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper coding, approval, and documentation.
• Review and reconcile vendor statements to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Communicate with vendors to address payment enquiries, discrepancies, and issues in a timely manner
• System three-way matching supplier invoices or manually matching supplier invoices and due diligence manage supplier payment files 
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records, including vendor files, payment logs, and invoice documentation
• Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve invoice discrepancies, resolve payment issues, and ensure timely processing of invoices
• Monitor and analyse accounts payable ageing reports to identify overdue payments and prioritise payment processing
• Assist with the implementation of process improvements and automation initiatives to streamline accounts payable processes and increase efficiency
• Support ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned by management

Skills and experience required

• Experience in accounts payable or related accounting roles
• Understanding of accounting principles and accounts payable processes
• Proficiency in Mandarin essential
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft software, cloud spreadsheet and ERP software
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively in a team environment
• Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner
