Job Description - Administrator Criminal Justice

Are you super organised, great with people, and love keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes?

We're on the lookout for a Part-Time Administrative Officer to join the education team at HMYOI Feltham.

This isn’t just any admin job - you’ll be a key part of a team supporting young people to access education and training while in custody. Your work will help create opportunities that can change lives.

Please note: this is a part time role at 18.75 hours weekly (weekly work schedule is TBC) with a salary of £13,078.00 per annum.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Keeping records and databases up to date (we love a well-organised spreadsheet!)
  • Helping produce class lists, timetables, and reports
  • Supporting the Exams Co-ordinator with student registrations and data entry
  • Ordering supplies and handling invoices – you'll help us stay stocked and on budget
  • Attending the Activity Allocation Board and Hub – making sure young people are where they need to be
  • Taking meeting minutes and making sure key actions don’t get missed
  • Being a go-to admin support for the education team
What we’re looking for:
  • Strong admin experience (ideally in a busy environment)
  • A confident Excel user who knows their way around pivot tables and formulas
  • Great communication and people skills – you’ll be working with lots of different teams
  • Someone who’s accurate, efficient, and can juggle multiple tasks
  • Comfortable handling confidential information with care
  • A team player who’s also happy working on their own
Bonus points if you’ve worked in a secure or education setting before – but don’t worry if not. What matters most is your attitude, reliability, and willingness to get stuck in.

A few important things:
  • You'll need GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • This role requires an enhanced DBS check
  • You’ll need to be comfortable working in a secure environment
  • We're big on safeguarding, equality, and inclusion – you'll be expected to support those values every day
Why this role?

It’s flexible, it’s meaningful, and you’ll be part of a supportive team that values what you do. You’ll have the chance to grow your skills while helping others find a better future through education.

Sound like you? Hit apply! We aim to reply to all applications. If you don’t hear from us in 72 hours, drop us a message on the Red 5 People website—or call and ask for Lawrence.
