Wiltshire Council is seeking an experienced Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join its supportive and highly respected Adult Mental Health Team.

📍 Location

* Fountain Way Hospital, Salisbury

* Hybrid working available

* Approximately 50% office-based admin, with the remainder split between home working and community visits

Please note: Accommodation and travel expenses are not provided for candidates commuting from outside Wiltshire.

What You'll Be Doing

✔ Undertaking Mental Health Act assessments and urgent interventions

✔ Responding to referrals and managing duty responsibilities

✔ Supporting adults with complex mental health and social care needs

✔ Working closely with Avon & Wiltshire Partnership (AWP), Adult Social Care and multi-disciplinary professionals

✔ Providing supervision and guidance to students and unqualified staff

✔ Promoting person-centred, strengths-based practice while safeguarding vulnerable adults

What We're Looking For

✅ Qualified Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP)

✅ Social Work England registered

✅ Strong working knowledge of:

* Mental Health Act

* Mental Capacity Act

* Care Act

* Safeguarding legislation

✅ Experience within Adult Mental Health or Community Mental Health Services

✅ Confident decision maker with excellent assessment and risk management skills
