Job Description - Animal Management Lecturer

Animal Management Lecturer
  • Hourly Rate: £31 to £45
  • Location: Hampshire
  • Job Type: Part-time

We are seeking an Animal Management Lecturer to play an active role in the continued improvement of our Animal Management department. This position involves delivering both theory and practical lessons across a range of BTEC and City and Guilds programmes, from level 2 to level 3. The successful candidate will also lead and develop enterprise and employability activities that enhance the learner's experience and provide opportunities for personal and social skills development.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver engaging theory and practical lessons in Animal Management across BTEC and City and Guilds programmes.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to enhance the learning experience.
  • Lead and coordinate enterprise and employability activities that provide practical learning opportunities and enhance students' personal and social skills.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to promote learning and improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to curriculum development.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the planning and organisation of the curriculum area.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Relevant academic and/or professional qualifications in Animal Management or a related field.
  • Experience in teaching BTEC and City and Guilds programmes, or similar qualifications, at levels 2 and 3.
  • Strong practical and theoretical knowledge of Animal Management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire learners.
  • Proven ability to develop and lead activities that enhance employability and enterprise skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
