Assistant Accountant

Part Time Accountant - Construction - Bedford

We are currently working in partnership with a well-established and growing construction business based in Bedford that now seeks a Part Time Accountant to join their team.

This is a newly created role, offering between 25 to 27 hours per week, to be worked on-site with flexibility around how those hours are spread across the week. This would suit an experienced and hands-on finance professional seeking part time hours within a friendly, supportive, and fast-paced environment.

Working closely with site managers and reporting to the company directors, you will take responsibility for a broad range of transactional and operational finance tasks.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare weekly payments to CIS subcontractors based on timesheets submitted by site managers
  
• Post weekly invoices received from subcontractors
  
• Input supplier invoices and match them to delivery notes
  
• Process the month-end payment run
  
• Handle intercompany charges for plant and vehicles
  
• Reconcile supplier statements
  
• Allocate intercompany transactions
  
• Maintain annual leave records
  
• Support with ad hoc finance and administrative tasks as required
  

What we're looking for:

• Proven experience in a similar accounting or finance role
  
• Good working knowledge of CIS and intercompany accounting preferred
  
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  
• Confident using accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
  
• Reliable and proactive team player
