Band 6 Occupational Therapist (Neuro)

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Location: Welwyn, Hertfordshire

Rate: £20 - £23/hr PAYE DE

The Client:

A leading provider of integrated community health services, dedicated to delivering high-quality care. The service supports a diverse population through a wide range of rehabilitation, therapy, and community-based services. The site is a specialist neurological center providing rehabilitation for individuals with complex neurological conditions in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

The Role:

A skilled and compassionate Band 6 Occupational Therapist (Neuro) is required on a locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to neurorehabilitation within a supportive team of OTs, physiotherapists, and rehabilitation assistants. The successful candidate will manage a caseload of up to 8 patients, providing tailored daily interventions and acting as a key coordinator for patient care and discharge planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver up to one hour of focused therapy input per patient daily

• Carry out assessments, treatment planning, and interventions for patients with complex neurological needs (including stroke, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury)

• Serve as a "link worker" for 1-2 patients, coordinating care, liaising with families, and chairing multidisciplinary meetings

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using SystemOne

• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support patient-centered rehabilitation goals

Requirements:

• HCPC registered Occupational Therapist

• Proven experience in managing neurological caseloads in a rehab setting

• Training in Manual Handling, Resuscitation, Safeguarding, Information Governance, Mental Capacity Act/Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards

• Car access for travel if required

• Strong communication and organizational skills

Desirable:

• Experience using SystemOne
