Job Description - Behaviour mentor

Join Our Team as a Behaviour mentor!


Location: East London

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Do you have the skills and knowledge to support students with challenging behaviour and help them achieve their full potential? If so, we want you to join our team as a Behaviour mentor at our dynamic and inclusive college in East London.

About the Role

As a Behaviour mentor, you will:

  • Work closely with students to support their social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Identify triggers and underlying causes of challenging behaviour.
  • Implement effective strategies to manage and improve behaviour.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to create a positive learning environment.
  • Serve as a role model, inspiring students to develop resilience and self-confidence.

Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience working with young people, especially those with behavioural challenges.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and intervention techniques.
  • Awareness of the factors contributing to challenging behaviour, such as trauma, anxiety, or unmet needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A calm, empathetic, and patient approach.
  • Minimum qualification of GCSE

Desirable Qualifications:

  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Education, Youth Work, or a related field.
  • Additional training in behaviour management or SEN (Special Educational Needs) support.
