Bookkeeper

Role: Bookkeeper
Location: Haywards Heath
Hours: Full Time or Part Time
Pay: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum

The Requirements:

• Excellent customer service skills

• Strong bookkeeping knowledge and experience

• Familiarity with cloud bookkeeping software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, ClearBooks)

• Good knowledge of VAT

• Ability to work unsupervised, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines

• Strong attention to detail and proactive team approach

• Previous experience within an accountancy practice (preferred)

The Role:

• Support clients with bookkeeping and software queries

• Liaise with clients to ensure complete records and timely VAT returns

• Prepare schedules and reports as required

• Perform bookkeeping duties to trial balance, including bank reconciliations, prepayments, and accruals

• Manage and file VAT and CIS returns

• Ensure all client work is completed within agreed timescales
