CAD Training Instructor

Job Title: CAD Training Instructor

Location: Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Building 1763 

Type of Job: Part-time Position 

Duties:

• Conduct training classes on AutoCAD 2023: Fundamentals, Autodesk Inventor 2023: Introduction to Solid Modeling, and Autodesk Inventor Nastran 2021: FEA Fundamentals.
• Ensure each class has no more than ten (10) participants and lasts for up to five (5) days, with no more than eight (8) hours per day.
• Design projects that exercise participants' ability to perform AutoCAD tasks in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, and Electrical Engineering disciplines.
• Provide hands-on instruction and practice-intensive curriculum to enhance participants' understanding of parametric design philosophy.
• Instruct participants on how to use Autodesk Inventor Nastran software for Finite Element Analysis (FEA).

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor software.
• Experience in teaching or training in CAD software.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred.
