Cafe Assistant (Parade Garden)

Searcys are looking for a Cafe Assistant to join our Parade garden Cafe.

Job Type: Full Time

Salary:  £12.21 hourly 

Responsibilities:

• Greet and serve customers with a warm, friendly demeanor
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently
• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee and tea
• Assist in the preparation of light snacks and meals as needed
• Operate the cash register and process various forms of payment
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the cafe area
• Restock supplies and monitor inventory levels
• Assist with setting up and breaking down outdoor seating areas
• Provide information about the Parade Garden and its attractions to visitors
• Collaborate with team members to ensure excellent customer service
• Adapt to changing weather conditions and seasonal fluctuations in visitor numbers

• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable manner
• Basic food handling and preparation abilities
• Proficiency in cash handling and operating POS systems
• Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation practices in a food service environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure
• Good communication skills in English
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evening shifts
• Previous experience in a cafe, restaurant, or food service setting (preferred)
• Food safety certification (preferred)
• Passion for gardens, local history, or tourism is a plus
