Job Description - Charity Finance Manager

Charity Finance Manager

Annual Salary: £45,000- £50,000 FTE (depending on experience)

Location: Hybrid (Work from home / Walton-on-Thames, Surrey)

Job Type: Permanent, Part-time (14 hours a week)

An independent charity in Surrey is seeking a Finance Manager. This role offers the opportunity to provide strategic financial advice and support, playing a crucial role in managing the charity's finances and contributing to its financial resilience.

Day-to-day of the role:

Manage and control the charity's finances, ensuring compliance and efficiency in financial operations.

Prepare statutory financial statements, Annual Reports, and Impact Reports, including liaising with external auditors.

Manage payroll processing and liaise with third-party providers.

Oversee the annual renewal of insurance policies and maintain a register of fixed assets.

Develop and maintain financial controls and policies to support the charity's progress.

Prepare quarterly management accounts and reports for trustees.

Monitor and report on the use of restricted grant income.

Prepare cash flow forecasts and manage cash flow effectively.

Provide ad hoc financial information and analysis to senior management as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience with a track record of managing finances in a similar-sized organisation.

Experience in financial statement preparation and managing year-end audit processes.

Proficient in management accounts, budgets, and forecasts.

Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel and Word; ability to consolidate financial and statistical information.

Experience with online cloud accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero.

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build successful working relationships.

Team player with the ability to manage and develop staff.
