Domestic Assistant

Location: Dolphinlee House, Patterdale Road, Lancaster LA1 3LZ
Hours: 17.5 hours per week, 14:00-19:00
Hourly Rate: £13.45 per hour
 

About the Role

We are looking for a dependable and detail‑focused Domestic Assistant to join our team at Dolphinlee House. You will play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work and be committed to delivering high standards of cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties across the building, including communal areas, offices, bathrooms, corridors, and resident areas.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and polish surfaces as required.
• Clean bathrooms and toilets to a high standard, ensuring hygiene and safety at all times.
• Replace consumables such as soap, towels, and toilet paper.
• Empty bins and manage waste disposal in line with organisational procedures.
• Follow designated cleaning schedules and maintain appropriate cleaning records.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and in accordance with training.
• Report maintenance issues or concerns promptly to the management team.
• Work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and residents.

Job Description and Person Specification

Essential:

• Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional.
• Awareness of health and safety and infection‑control practices.

Desirable:

• Previous cleaning or domestic experience.
• Experience in a care, or healthcare environment.

Working Hours:

Total weekly working hours: 17.5 hours

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday

Week 2: Thursday, Friday
