Part-time Cook (Nursing Home)

Hourly Rate: £13.50

28 hours per week – includes every other weekend

Shift Times: 7:00-15:30

Our client is looking for a dedicated and experienced Cook to join their team in a Nursing Home setting for older adults. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge in creating meals that meet varied dietary needs and be familiar with the IDDSI framework within a care setting.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Chef or Cook, with previous experience in a nursing home setting being an advantage

• Knowledge of specialised diets and the ability to prepare meals according to individual dietary requirements

• Familiarity with the International Dysphagia Diet Standardization Initiative (IDDSI) framework is highly desirable

• Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

• Commitment to promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion in the workplace

Responsibilities

• Preparation and cooking of well-balanced and nutritious meals for residents in a fast-paced environment

• Adherence to dietary restrictions to ensure specific dietary needs of residents are met

• Maintenance of a clean and organized kitchen environment

• Collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure meals align with residents' dietary plans

• Monitoring and managing of food supplies and kitchen inventory
