We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and confident Cover Supervisor to work in a thriving secondary school in Nottingham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in the classroom and make a positive impact in a supportive school environment.

We are looking for a motivated Cover Supervisor to supervise pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects in the absence of the regular class teacher. You will manage the classroom, ensure students remain on task, and maintain a safe and positive learning environment. This temporary position may lead to a permanent opportunity for the right candidate.

• Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers.

• Ensure students are engaged in the lesson and follow the pre-set work.

• Manage student behaviour effectively in line with school policies.

• Provide feedback to the regular teacher about the lesson and student progress.

• Support the school with additional duties, such as break or lunch supervision, when required.

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Experience: Previous experience working with young people in a school or educational setting is desirable.

• Qualifications: A degree or relevant qualification is preferred, but not essential.

• Training: Strong classroom or group management skills. Familiarity with safeguarding practices.

• Skills: Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills. Confidence managing a classroom environment.

• Background checks: All applicants must undergo an enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce) before working if not already in possession of one registered with the Update Service.
