Job Description - Credit Controller

Senior Credit Controller
  • Annual Salary: £28,000 - £31,000
  • Location: Eastbourne
  • Job Type: Full-time (Flexible hours, 30-40 per week)

We are seeking a Senior Credit Controller to join one of our long-standing clients within the engineering sector. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in credit control, looking to leverage their skills in a dynamic and challenging environment. Experience in the engineering sector is advantageous, reflecting the specialised nature of their business operations.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Managing and overseeing the entire credit control process.
  • Chasing outstanding invoices and managing debt recovery, which may involve stopping the supply of services or undertaking legal action if necessary.
  • Allocating payments in accordance with customer remittances.
  • Processing and generating reminder letters and monthly statements.
  • Liaising with the sales and accounts receivable teams to resolve outstanding queries.
  • Ensuring that all major accounts work to agreed order to cash cycle.
  • Investigating and resolving queries relating to non-payment of invoices.
  • Working to strict monthly and annually collections targets.
  • Reporting to management on outstanding issues and informing them early of potential debtor problems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a credit control role.
  • Experience in the engineering sector is highly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of the order to cash process.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to reconcile complex accounts and have excellent attention to detail.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office products, Excel and accounting software programmes.
  • Capable of working independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
