Job Description - Customer Service Assistant

Hours - Full time Monday to Friday
Salary - £24,500 plus good benefits

We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Customer Service Assistant to join a busy and dynamic team within a growing technical services organisation. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role is integral to ensuring smooth communication and coordination between service, sales, and client teams. You will act as a key point of contact, supporting service operations and helping to deliver an excellent client experience. This is ideally a full time role, but the company will consider reduced hours for the right person.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate service contracts and schedule preventative maintenance visits.
  • Provide administrative support including preparing quotations, ordering spare parts, and arranging courier collections/deliveries.
  • Collate and monitor service team activity to ensure SLA compliance.
  • Produce monthly service performance reports, tracking downtime and activity levels.
  • Prioritise and escalate urgent service cases to technical management.
  • Manage calibration schedules for testing equipment to minimise downtime.
  • Liaise with service and management teams to ensure timely case resolution.
  • Support management with data and reporting for performance reviews.
  • Promote and uphold company values and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and health & safety standards.
Person Specification

Essential
  • Strong organisational skills with a methodical approach.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Positive, assertive, and approachable personality.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Team player with a proactive, self-motivated attitude.
Preferred
  • Experience using Excel and service management software.
