Day to Day Cover Supervisor

Veritas Education is looking to recruit confident and adaptable Cover Supervisors to support a range of secondary schools across Kirklees.

This role is ideal for individuals who are considering a career in teaching, recent graduates, or those with experience working with young people in a school or similar setting. As a Cover Supervisor, you will manage classroom behaviour, deliver pre-set work, and ensure pupils stay on task during teacher absences.

You'll be working in a variety of schools, gaining valuable classroom experience while supporting students aged 11-16. No planning or marking is required, but the ability to engage and motivate pupils is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise lessons across the curriculum in the absence of the class teacher

• Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a positive learning environment

• Follow school policies and procedures

• Report back on student progress and any issues to senior staff

Requirements:

• Strong communication and organisational skills

• Ability to manage behaviour effectively

• Experience working with young people is desirable

• Degree or education-related qualifications are beneficial but not essential
