Decontamination Process Technician - Sterile Services (Rotational Shift)

Stoke Hospital Sterile Services Unit (ST5 7UF) | Permanent | Full Time

15 hours a week permanent Weekends 12.49 pr hour plus 20% enhancement
Saturday & Sunday 7am till 3pm

As a Decontamination Process Technician at our Stoke HSSU,

You will learn how to dismantle, prepare, and sterilise re-usable medical Instruments ready for our patients in our Nuffield Hospitals.

You will need to be organised with good communication skills – and ideally, you’re able to show evidence of sterile services training however this is not essential, full training will be provided.

As a Decontamination Process Technician, you will:

  • Dismantle and prepare and sterilise Medical Instruments ready for Theatre Surgery

  • Inspect and maintain instruments to a high standard

  • Help to ensure all equipment is in good working order

  • Regularly check medical equipment for damage and report any faults

  • Work with a strong friendly team

  • Take on training as required

  • Be computer literate

  • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment

  • Take action to resolve any problems

  • Escalate issues where necessary

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with our policies and procedures

  • Handle manual handling duties up to 13kg.

  • Have strong attention to detail and an overarching desire to deliver a high quality service.
