Development Officer

My client, a prestigious and leading educator, based near Banbury has an exciting opportunity to join their team as a Development Officer.

With it’s expanding capabilities and objective in increasing fundraising (both regular and major gifts), the Development Officer will work closely with the Head of Development to increase participation and philanthropic income from the community.

The successful candidate will be entitled to a salary of between £30-38.5k plus benefits, including hybrid working and potential progression to Head of Development. This role is full time however for the right candidate, my client is also open to those seeking term-time only or 30 hours.

The Role

• Contribute to the overall fundraising strategy
• Increase membership and contribution of societies and legacies
• Prepare and draft fundraising communications and related literature, in collaboration with the marketing team
• Developing compelling content, such as impact stories to demonstrate impact to donors
• Research prospective donors and other stakeholders
• Establish positive and professional working relationships with the community, alumni, parents and staff

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience in a similar role IE Philanthropy, Development, Fundraising (minimum 1 year)
• Strong IT and CRM skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication,
• Ability to build relationships and rapports with a variety of stakeholders
• Proactive, able to work independently as well as collaboratively
