Estimator - Windows and Glazing, Part Time - 18 Hours A Week

Key Responsibilities

• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and tender documents
  
• Measure and quantify materials (glass, frames, fixings, sealants, etc.)
  
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for:
  • Residential and commercial window installations
    
  • Curtain walling, glazing systems, and bespoke glass solutions
    
• Liaise with suppliers to obtain pricing for materials and components
  
• Analyse labour, transport, and installation costs
  
• Prepare and submit quotations and tender documents
  
• Work closely with sales, project managers, and clients to clarify requirements
  
• Identify risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost -saving options
  
• Maintain records of estimates, revisions, and project costs
  
• Support contract handover to project delivery teams
  

Requirements

• Proven experience as an estimator in glazing, windows, or construction
  
• Strong understanding of:
  • Glass types (toughened, laminated, double glazing, etc.)
    
  • Aluminium/PVC window systems
    
  • Installation methods and site practices
    
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
  
• Proficiency in estimating software and Excel
  
• Good communication and negotiation skills
  
• High attention to detail and accuracy
  

Desirable

• Experience with curtain walling or façade systems
  
• Knowledge of UK building regulations and safety standards
  
• Background in quantity surveying or construction estimating
