📍 Ilford, Essex ⏰ 21 Hours per Week 💼 Permanent Position
Are you a creative and organised events manager with a passion for community engagement, cultural programming, and delivering memorable visitor experiences?
We are seeking a Programme & Events Manager to join a prestigious historic venue and gardens in Ilford. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development and delivery of a diverse programme of events, activities, exhibitions and community initiatives within a unique heritage setting.
The Role
As Programme & Events Manager, you will be responsible for creating and delivering a year-round programme that attracts visitors, engages local communities and supports the continued success of this well-loved destination.
Working closely with stakeholders, partners, volunteers and suppliers, you will ensure all events are planned and delivered to the highest standards, whilst remaining commercially viable and aligned with the venue's objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, manage and deliver a varied programme of events, exhibitions, workshops and community activities.
* Identify opportunities to increase visitor engagement and generate revenue.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with local organisations, community groups, artists, performers and key stakeholders.
* Manage event logistics including planning, scheduling, budgets, suppliers and risk assessments.
* Coordinate marketing activity in collaboration with internal and external partners.
* Monitor programme performance and produce reports on attendance, feedback and outcomes.
* Ensure all events comply with relevant health and safety requirements.
* Support volunteer engagement and community participation initiatives.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Previous experience managing events, programmes or community engagement activities.
* Strong project management and organisational skills.
* Experience managing budgets and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
* A proactive, creative and hands-on approach.
* An understanding of heritage, cultural, community or visitor attractions would be advantageous.
* Social Media experience is key!
* The ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends when required.
