Finance Assistant Part-time

Overview

Finance Assistant required for a long term, ongoing temp role in Durham City. The hours are part-time 9am to 2.30pm Mon to Fri in term-time but fewer during the school/college holidays. It is a general finance role and ideally suited to someone with experience in Oracle, but this isn’t essential.

The Role

Undertake a range of financial procedures, including placing orders, invoicing, preparation of cheques, banking cash, issuing receipts and dealing with supplier issues under the guidance of senior finance staff, as required. Additionally, you will be required to resolve financial queries, communicate effectively with all stakeholders in both verbal and written formats. The successful applicant will also be tasked with the maintenance and updating of relevant financial records.

Monitoring how well budgets are being adhered and highlighting variances to senior staff will form part of the role, along with producing some financial data and reports for the senior finance team as required. You will use Oracle for purchase ledger processing (training provided) and process staff travel and subsistence claims.

Please note, unless accrued paid holidays are used or you are in working, the school holidays are unpaid.

The Person

Remuneration

£13.00 - £13.50 PAYE per hour
