Financial Controller (Part-Time)

Fareham area | 3 Days / 20 - 25 hours per week | £50,000 - £60,000 FTE.

The role

We are recruiting for a hands-on Financial Controller to take ownership of the complete finance function within a growing ecommerce business.

Selling through Amazon, eBay, Shopify and other online sales platforms, this is a standalone position requiring both day-to-day bookkeeping and higher-level financial reporting, forecasting and VAT management. Working closely with the Directors, you'll provide accurate financial information, support business decision-making and help drive continuous improvement across the finance function.

This opportunity would suit an experienced finance professional who enjoys being involved in every aspect of finance, from transactional accounting through to management reporting and forecasting. Experience within an ecommerce, online retail or marketplace environment is an essential requirement due to the nature of the business.

About You

* Experience within a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar position

* Strong bookkeeping and management accounting experience

* Comfortable managing a finance function independently

* Experience preparing management accounts and financial reports

* Ecommerce, online retail or marketplace experience would be highly desirable

* Understanding of how online sales platforms impact financial reporting, reconciliations and VAT processes

* Confident using accounting systems, ideally Xero

* Practical and hands-on approach

* Able to operate at both transactional and strategic level

* Looking for a role with autonomy and responsibility

Knowledge of OSS/IOSS and ecommerce VAT would be beneficial, but is not essential.
