About the Role 


Rinova is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Finance Manager to lead and develop accountancy management and the finance function across Rinova Ltd (UK) and Rinova Malaga S.L. 


Working closely with the Chief Executive, Deputy CEO and Directors, the Finance Manager will support the Board of Directors of Rinova, by coordinating the production of financial information (out turns, forecasts, insights), ensuring that the organisation benefits from effective coordination across its financial operations. implemented across a diverse portfolio of publicly funded, commercial and international programmes. The successful candidate will play a central role in supporting organisational growth, ensuring robust financial management and providing the financial insight needed to inform strategic decision-making. 


A significant proportion of Rinova's work is funded through government departments, local authorities and international funding programmes. Consequently, substantial experience of managing finance within publicly funded organisations or grant-funded programmes is essential. The successful candidate will understand funding compliance, open-book accounting, grant claims, audit requirements and the financial management of multiple funding streams. 


The Finance Manger will provide formal reports and accounting reports to the Board of Rinova, comprising the Chair and the CEO, who together comprise the Finance sub-committee for the whole Rinova group.  On day to day matters, the Finance Manager will liaise with the CEO and the Deputy CEO of Rinova Ltd, and the Principal Development Manager of Rinova Malaga with regards to management accounts, budgeting and the financial operations 


This is a senior role requiring someone who enjoys working collaboratively across teams, supporting operational colleagues, improving systems and helping shape the future direction of the organisation.

Main Responsibilities 


Strategic Financial Coordination  



  • Lead the financial accountancy management of Rinova Ltd and Rinova Malaga S.L.  

  • Ensure that the financial policies established by the Board of Directors at Rinova are implemented 

  • Develop annual budgets, financial forecasts and longer-term financial plans.  

  • Produce financial modelling and scenario planning to support organisational growth.  

  • Monitor organisational performance and identify financial risks and opportunities.  

  • Support the Board through high-quality financial reporting and business analysis.  


Public Funding & Contract Finance 



  • Support the effective financial performance of Rinova's portfolio of publicly funded programmes.  

  • Ensure compliance with the financial requirements of government, local authority, international and other funding bodies.  

  • Develop robust financial monitoring systems for grant-funded contracts.  

  • In conjunction with contract management staff, prepare and oversee grant claims, financial reconciliations and audit evidence.  

  • Support programme managers to understand contract performance, eligible expenditure and funding requirements.  

  • Monitor contract profitability, cost recovery and funding compliance throughout delivery.  

  • Ensure the organisation remains audit-ready across all funding programmes.  


Business Partnering



  • Work closely with project managers and budget holders to strengthen financial planning and budget management.  

  • Translate complex financial information into practical business insight.  

  • Develop financial reporting that supports informed operational decision-making.  

  • Attend senior management meetings, providing financial advice and challenge where appropriate.


Business Development & Growth



  • Support the preparation of financial models, budgets and pricing for funding bids, tenders and commercial proposals. 

  • Assess the financial viability of new business opportunities.  

  • Contribute to funding strategies and organisational sustainability.  

  • Support the financial due diligence associated with partnership and consortium working.  


Accountancy Management 



  • Produce regular management accounts and quarterly Board reports.  

  • Maintain cashflow forecasts and monitor working capital.  

  • Manage profit and loss forecasting across multiple projects.  

  • Oversee payroll, bookkeeping, reconciliations and credit control.  

  • Ensure timely submission of VAT, tax and statutory returns.  

  • Manage relationships with external accountants, auditors, banks and financial advisers.  


UK & Spain Operations 



  • Develop consistent financial processes across Rinova Ltd and Rinova Malaga S.L.  

  • Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations.  

  • Support consolidated financial reporting.  

  • Build effective working relationships with colleagues across both organisations.  


Systems, Governance & Continuous Improvement 



  • Review and improve financial systems, controls and reporting processes.  

  • Strengthen financial governance and internal controls.  

  • Develop management dashboards and business intelligence reporting.  

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, value for money and organisational resilience.  


Person Specification 


Essential



  • Fully or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), or significant relevant experience.  

  • Significant experience managing finance within publicly funded organisations or grant-funded programmes.  

  • Strong understanding of funding compliance, grant claims, audit requirements and open-book accounting.  

  • Experience of managing multiple funding streams and contract budgets simultaneously.  

  • Excellent budgeting, forecasting and financial planning skills.  

  • Experience producing management accounts and Board-level financial reports.  

  • Strong Excel and financial systems skills.  

  • Experience of payroll, VAT and statutory reporting.  

  • Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.  

  • Ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.  

  • Experience of working collaboratively with senior managers to support strategic decision-making.  


Desirable 



  • Experience of Adult Skills Fund, DWP, GLA, Local Authority, Erasmus+, Horizon or other publicly funded programmes.  

  • Experience working within education, employability, social enterprise or charitable organisations.  

  • Experience supporting funding bids and commercial tenders.  

  • Experience of financial management across multiple legal entities or international organisations.  

  • Experience of financial reporting tools.
