Financial Controller

Our client, a leading manufacturer and distributor of cleaning and hygiene products, is looking for a Financial Controller to join their team. The Financial Controller will oversee and manage all aspects of the finance department. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring the smooth operation of our accounting processes.

The Financial Controller will be responsible for managing accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow, as well as overseeing the purchase and sales ledgers.

The responsibilities of the Financial Controller include but are not limited to the following:

• Manage and prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Oversee all accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
• Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure robust internal controls and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Work with external auditors to ensure proper financial auditing and reporting.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems, ensuring they are optimised for efficiency and accuracy.

Skills, Experience & Key Candidate Attributes of the Financial Controller:

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, or similar, with strong expertise in financial management and accounting.
• In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Strong understanding of cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines, manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
