Food Technologist (Part-Time)

Hours: 20 hours per week (2-3 days)
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 pro rata (£33.65 - £38.46 per hour) DOE
Office Location: Reigate

Remote/Hybrid working available

An exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented Food Technologist to join a dynamic and collaborative team within a well-established food business. This part-time position is perfect for someone with relevant experience who is looking to further develop their career in food safety, technical compliance, and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support compliance and audit readiness for annual BRC accreditation
• Maintain and update the HACCP plan (HACCP qualification desirable)
• Conduct internal audits, risk assessments, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Manage food safety and technical documentation, including non-conformance follow-up, supplier approvals, and NPD records
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure technical compliance and support occasional site visits
• Manage customer requirements and participate in audits (some international travel may be required)
• Maintain internal systems and web-based platforms for reporting and documentation
• Oversee the customer complaints process

Requirements:

• A degree (or equivalent) in Food Science or a related discipline
• Solid understanding of BRC standards, food safety, quality management, and food processing
• Proactive and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and organisational skills
