Prospero Teaching are seeking an adaptable Functional Skills English & Maths Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 tuition in St Helens.

The role involves helping a learner strengthen their core skills and re-engage with education through structured, accessible and supportive sessions.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver tailored Functional Skills tuition
Support English and Maths development
Plan sessions around individual targets
Identify and address gaps in core knowledge
Adapt resources and explanations
Build confidence and encourage participation
Record and communicate learner progress

Requirements
Previous experience teaching or tutoring English and/or Maths
Functional Skills experience desirable
Strong communication and numeracy skills
Experience supporting learners with additional needs or gaps in education advantageous
Patient and encouraging approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
Right to Work in the UK
Two professional child-related references
